Scans
the scans depict documents of traces collected in a walk through Manchester. I gathered found materials and digitally scanned them which highlights the texture from everyday use in sharp definition and emphasizes there bright colours.
Edits
I then edited the scans by adjusting the levels , cropping them and placing them on plane black backgrounds. certain images where also converted to black and white to emphasizes the textures. this set of edits are inspired by Denis Doran
Development
I then inverted the edited images , reversing the light and dark values making them appear more abstract
I then selected some of my inverted images adding them together on a page . I printed extra copies and used tracing paper to trace some of the objects directly onto the page, mixing digital images and hand drawn elements . I then labelled each object with its name and added geographical coordinates of where an object was found providing context
Hand
I then did a hand made version in the style of Candy Jernigan, I first made a page to show evidence of vice (bad habbits) that in a way can show a visual representation of parts of the original owners being. I then made one showing the objects in chronological order of the point in the walk where they where found. i also labelled the sample number and where they where found
